  • last but not least - mit möglichst vielen Leuten schon ab Montag, dem 10.09. mit uns auf dem Marktplatz von Letzlingen den Campplatz sein könnt, um mit uns vor Ort einen geeigneten Campplatz zu erstreiten!

 

UPDATE ZUM CAMP

Am 12. September wird das „War Starts Here“-Camp in der Altmark gegen das Gefechtsübungszentrum (GÜZ) der Bundeswehr beginnen. Die Vorbereitungen laufen auf Hochtouren. Nachdem es über 40 Infoveranstaltungen in Deutschland und verschiedenen europäischen Ländern gab, fand das große Finale unserer Info-Touren in den vergangenen zwei Wochen mit Markplatz-Aktionen und Info-Veranstaltungen in der Altmark rund um das GÜZ  statt.

Ab Montag, dem 10. September, werden also internationale Antimilitarist_innen beginnen nach Letzlingen in die Altmark zu strömen, um das Camp gemeinsam aufzubauen. Wir rechnen mit ca. 300 - 500 Aktivist_innen. Letzlingen ist eine kleine Ortschaft, die sich in einer Entfernung von einem Kilometer direkt neben der Kommandozentrale des GÜZ befindet. Wir haben uns dieses Dorf nicht nur aufgrund seiner räumlichen Nähe zur Zentrale des GÜZ ausgesucht, sondern auch wegen seiner engen zivil-militärischen Verflechtungen und Machtstrukturen, die wir nicht nur kritisieren wollen, sondern in die wir mit international getragenen Protest direkt intervenieren werden.
Die starke Durchdringung der Gesellschaft in dieser Region durch das Militär hat eine über 70 jährige Geschichte und wirkt deutlich in die örtliche Politik hinein. So verwehren sich die politischen Verantwortlichen, der Bürgermeister der Stadt Gardelegen, Herr Fuchs, sowie die Bürgermeisterin der Gemeinde Letzlingen, Frau Lessing, dem antimilitaristischen Camp einen Platz bei Letzlingen zur Verfügung zu stellen. Von Grundstückseigentümer_innen gab es bisher ebenfalls keine Zusagen für einen Campplatz - aus Angst den vorweggenommenen gesellschaftlichen Konsens zu brechen und sich gegen das GÜZ und den Betreiber Rheinmetall Defense zu stellen.
Auch wenn wir bisher noch keinen Platz bei Letzlingen zugesichert bekommen haben, werden wir auf jeden Fall ab Montag, 10.09., vor Ort sein und uns einen geeigneten Platz für das Camp dort politisch erstreiten! Diese Region trägt durch ihre enge Beziehung zu GÜZ, Militär und Rheinmetall eine politische Verantwortung und muss sich unserem Protest stellen.

Wir laden deshalb alle ein, ab Montag, dem 10.09.2012, auf den Marktplatz von Letzlingen zur Dauerkundgebung zu kommen, um unter dem Motto "Jedes Camp braucht seinen Platz" den antimilitaristischen Protest in die internationale Öffentlichkeit zu tragen. Anmeldung und Vöku stehen, jetzt fehlt nur noch ihr! Ab Montag ist auch das Infotelefon freigeschaltet! Das Camp wird auf jeden Fall am Mittwoch, dem 12.09., beginnen!

 

15.09. 2012 AKTIONSTAG - GÜZ ENTERN!

Jeder Tag, an dem nicht geübt wird, ist ein guter Tag

Am Samstag, dem 15.09.2012, findet unter dem Motto „entern lahmlegen, umgestalten“ der Aktionstag gegen das GÜZ statt.

Mit mehreren öffentlichen Kundgebungen wollen wir an diesem Tag das
Gelände des GÜZ umzingeln und sichtbaren Protest artikulieren. Dort wird es Info-Punkte, Redebeiträge, kreaktive Aktionsansätze, Pressevertreter_innen, Musik und natürlich etwas zu Essen geben.

Viele Aktivist_innen werden sich zudem auf den Weg machen, um das GÜZ zu entern. Die Verbotsschilder des Militärs markieren für sie nicht den äußeren Rand einer militärischen Sperrzone, von der die Öffentlichkeit ausgeschlossen bleibt, sondern sie markieren einen Ort, an dem das Töten und Kriege führen geübt wird und somit einen Ort, auf den unser antimilitaristischer Protest und Widerstand getragen werden wird.  

Nachdem die Leitung des GÜZ den Tag der offenen Tür am 08. September 2012 aus Angst vor Protesten und Störaktionen abgesagt hat, rufen linke Aktivist_innen zum antimilitaristischen Tag der offenen Tür auf dem GÜZ am Samstag, dem 15.09., auf!  Mit möglichst vielen Menschen wollen wir das Gefechtsübungszentrum (GÜZ) entern und den Übungsbetrieb der Bundeswehr für einen Tag lahmlegen. Wir wollen an diesem Tag zeigen, dass wir den Krieg dort, wo er beginnt, auch aufhalten können.

Hier noch Informationen zur Beschaffenheit des GÜZ-Geländes

Wir gehen ganz klar davon aus, dass wir ein Recht auf Proteste gegen das, was auf dem GÜZ stattfindet, und das andere Menschen weit weg von uns ihr Leben kostet, haben. Das GÜZ ist ein militärisches Gelände und erstreckt sich von Norden nach Süden über 30km und von Westen nach Osten an der breitesten Stelle um die 15 km. Der südliche Teil wird in der Mitte von Osten nach Westen durch eine Durchgangsstraße durchteilt. Am Rande des GÜZ bietet ein breiter Waldstreifen Sichtschutz für die Übungen, die auf dem Gelände stattfinden. Sonst ist das GÜZ an Einfahrtsstrassen bzw -Wegen entweder mit Schranken oder Erdwällen abgesichert und mit Schildern versehen, die darauf hinweisen, dass hier jetzt das militärische Sperrgebiet anfängt. Sonst zieht sich manchmal noch ein Erdgraben zwischen Straße und Waldrand. Rote Fähnchen auf dem Gelände bedeuten übrigens - hier ist was (Miene ö.Ä.) noch nicht beräumt. Ansonsten ist das gesamte Gelände bis auf 80cm Tiefe beräumt; auf dem Heideflugplatz bis zu zwei Meter tief. Am Aktionstag, den 15.9.2012 wird es Kundgebungen rund um das Gelände geben, so dass alle rechtlich eine gewisse Nähe zum Protestort erreichen können sollten. Wir können nicht einschätzen, welche Schiene die Bullen fahren werden, und auch nicht, wie sich das Militär vorbereitet. Eine Info schon mal vorab: die Feldjäger_innen haben ähnliche Kompetenzen wie Bullen bzgl. kurzzeitiger Festnahme oder Durchsuchung. Welche Maßnahmen die Militärs davon anwenden werden, ist schwer absehbar. Konkrete Infos werden in den nächsten Tagen auf der Website zum Camp veröffentlicht.

 

EMPFEHLENSWERTER LESESTOFF

…das NATO-Gegenstrategiepapier „Militär in den Straßen“

Hiermit veröffentlichen wir die neue Übersetzung des NATO-Gegenstrategiepapiers „Militär in den Straßen“. Der Text nimmt kritisch Bezug auf das NATO-Strategiepapier „Urban Operations 2020“, in dem die NATO ihre Pläne darlegt, wie sich die Militärs auf zukünftige Kriege vorbereiten.

Kommunikationsnetzwerke kennen und ausschalten, Isolierung von Stadtteilen, vorgeblich nicht-tödliche Waffen, virtuelle und soziokulturelle Kontrolle und psychosoziale Profile sind Teil des Waffenarsenals der Zukunft. Die klassische Kriegsführung der Materialschlachten zwischen Nationalstaaten tritt in den Hintergrund und macht Platz für die urbane Aufstandsbekämpfung. Denn immer mehr Menschen leben in den Städten und somit auch in den Banlieues, Favelas und Vorstädten. Die Revolten der Benachteiligten - derer, denen sonst niemand Gehör schenkt - wird ungebändigt an den Säulen der Ordnung rütteln. Die Antwort zum Erhalt des Bestehenden suchen die NATO-Staaten nun in einer Strategie der Kriegsführung, die in alle Lebensbereiche zu jeder Zeit eingreift.

ANFAHRTSMÖGLICHKEITEN

Wie kommt ihr zum Camp?

Am besten mit Autos, kleinen und auch großen, am Liebsten für viele Menschen nutzbar, denn könnten wir auch ein paar Shuttle-Service-Angebote nutzen.

Da wir ja ein Camp in Letzlingen durchsetzen wollen, ist Letzlingen schon ab Montag, dem 10.9.2012, das Anfahrtsziel. Der Ort liegt direkt bei der GÜZ-Zentrale. Die nächstgelegenen Orte, die ihr mit der Deutschen Bahn erreicht, heißen Gardelegen, Salzwedel und Magdeburg. Von dort aus geht es weiter mit dem Bus (Abfahrtszeiten siehe unten). Die unten angegebenen Busse existieren, aber achtet darauf: einige Busse von Gardelegen und Salzwedel, müsst ihr vorher telefonisch bestellen (Infos siehe unten). Alle anderen Busse müsst ihr nicht anrufen! Allgemein: Bitte ruft vorsichtshalber noch mal beim Infotelefon an, dort gibt es ab Montag, den 10.9.2012 die neuesten Infos!

The camp is self-organized and therefore depends on the support of each on of you. Pleas let us know, if you can provide any of the following:

  • tents for bigger groups
  • translators for every language (The plenary mettings will bE bilingual, further translations will be organized in groups during the meetings)
  • people who can make their cars available and feel like providing shuttle service
  • if you are interested to participate actively in the camp, you can always do a shift in the infrastructure or work on the camp
  • last but not least - lots of people, who will come to the market place of Letzlingen in Monday, September 10th and fight with us for a camp space

UPDATE ABOUT THE CAMP

On September, 12th, the War Starts Here Camp in the Altmark against the Gefechtsübungszentrum (GÜZ) of the German Bundeswehr will start. The preparations are already running on full speed. After more than 40 information events all around Germany and other european countries, we concluded our information tour with two actions on the marketplace of Letzlingen and different events in the Altmark-area in the last two weeks. From Monday, September 10th, anti-militarists from all around the world will come to Letzlingen and start to put up the camp. We are expecting about 500 activists. Letzlingen is a small town, about 1 km away from the command centre of the GÜZ. We chose this town not only because of its geographical connection to the GÜZ, but also because the civil-military-corporation and the influence of the military are obvious there. We do not only want to critizise this, but want to intervene directly. The penetration of the civil sector by the military has taken place fir more than 70 years and also strongly affects the politics. The last example is the refusal by the mayors of Gardelgen and Letzlingen, Mr. Fuchs and Mrs. Lessing, to supply the camp with a space in Letzlingen. Private property owners also refused, because they were afraid to break the social consensus and to oppose to the GÜZ or its operator Rheinmetall Defence. But even if we wont receive a space for the camp, we will come on monday and fight for the realization of the camp! Because of the connection between the GÜZ, the military and Rheinmetall, this area has a responsibility and therefore has to answer to our protests.

Therefore we invite everyone to gather on the market place of Letzlingen on Monday, September, 10th, 2012 to join our demonstration under the motto „Every camp needs its space“ and present the anti-military protest to a brighter public and international audience.

The demonstration is already registered, Voküs will supply food and drinks, everthing that is missing is you! Beginnig monday, you can also reach the information telephone. At any rate, the camp will start on September, 12th.

 

SEPTEMBER 15th 2012 ACTIONDAY – ENTER THE GÜZ!

Everyday without practice is a good day!

The action day against the GÜZ will start on saturday, september 15th, under the motto „enter, stop, transform“. We want to surround the area of the GÜZ on this day with several public demonstrations in order to articulate our protest visibly. Information points will be in place, as well as speeches, press, music and food. Also, many activists will start and enter the GÜZ on this day. For them, the sings, put up by the military do not mark the borders of a prohibited military area, but mark a place, where killing and wars are practiced and therefore a place, where anti-militaristic protest and resistance have to happen. After the command of the GÜZ has canceled the open day on september 8th 2012 because they were afraid of protests and disruptions, anti-militaristic activists are calling for the anti-militaristic open day on saturday, september 15th! With as many people as possible we want to enter the GÜZ to stop the combat training of Bundeswehr (german military) for one day. We will show that we can stop the war right where it starts. Bring waterproof shoes, compasses, mountain bikes, scooters, kites and warm blankets You can get final information, maps, material and help for the action day on friday at the camp. At the camp we also offer a little training on using compasses and maps.

There will also be a feministic action on the action day, further information will follow. Alos the will be a rebel-clown-action.

 

INFORMATION ABOUT THE NATURE OF THE GÜZ AREA

We are sure that we have a right to protest against the GÜZ and what happens there. The GÜZ is a military area and extends 30 km from north to south and 15 km from east to west. The southern part is divided in the middle by a street. At the edges, the are is surrounded by forest, which provides partition during the practice. Apart from that, the access roads to the GÜZ are secured withs gates and barriers and is surrounded by signs, marking the military area. At some parts there is also a ditch between the streets and the forest. Red flags on the are mark parts that are not yet cleared of old munition, mines, etc. Apart from that the whole area is cleared down to 80 cm; on the airport even down to 2 meters. On the action day, september 15th, there will be demonstrations all around the GÜZ, so that everyone has the legal right to participate in one of those demonstrations. So far, we cannot say how the cops will behave and how the military will prepare. One information though: The Feldjäger (german military police) have equal rights as normal police on military area (short time arrest, searching of people, etc.). How they will behave exactely is hard to say, but you will receive further information on the camp website these days.

 

LITERARY RECOMMENDATIONS

Hereby we publish the latest translation of the Anti-NATO-strategy "Military in the streets". The paper refers to the NATO-strategy "Urban Operations 2020", in which the NATO describes its opinion and preparation about future wars. To know and to eliminate networks of communication, isolation of whole districts, supposedly non-lethal weapons, virtual and socio-cultural control and psychosocial profiles are part of the weaponry of the future. The classical way of war between nations loses significance and the urban counterinsurgency is gaining importance, because more and more people live in urban areas and therefore also in Banlieues, Favelas and slums. The revolt of the underprivileged, to whom nobody listens, will shake the columns of order. To preserve the existing, the weapon of choice is a strategy of war that penetrates every part of your life, anytime.

HOW TO GET THERE WITH PUBLIC TRANSPORT

How to reach the camp?

The best would be to come by car, if possible with a big car, filled with many people and ready to shuttle some others. Because the camp should take place in Letzlingen, we will meet up there already from Monday, september 10th. The town is directly next to the GÜZ-command-centre.

If you do no have a car:

Cities which are connected to the train system (Deutsche Bahn) are Gardelegen, Salzwedel and Magdeburg. From there you can take a bus (time of departure see below). The busses on the list below exist, but please note, that some of the busses from Gardelegen and Salzwedel need to be ordered by telephone. All the other busses do not need to be called! If you are insecure, please call the information telephone.

The busses that need to be called are Rufbusse. They will only come if you order them by telephone under the number: 03901 30 40 30. The order has to be placed at least two hours beforehand, if you want to order a bus before 9 am, you will have to call until 6 pm on the previous day. Further information here
